About

I have been a Senior Teaching Asscoiate in pure mathematics at the University of Bristol since 2016. Since August 2018, I have also been an Associate for BILT (Bristol Institute for Learning and Teaching).

I currently teach MATH 10010 on `Introduction to Proofs' (previously named MATH 10004 `Foundations and Proof'), which is a first year undergraduate course in pure mathematics. I have a keen interest in using technology for teaching, and in 2017, I successfully introduced online quizzes as a form of assessment for Foundations and Proof. These quizzes are now being adapted by the vast majority of first year undergraduate mathematics courses at Bristol.

In 2015, I completed a PhD in pure mathematics at the University of East Anglia under the supervision of Prof. Tom Ward (University of Leeds) and Prof. Shaun Stevens. In my thesis, I researched closed orbits in quotient systems in the area of topological dynamical systems. A copy of my thesis can be found here.

After submitting my thesis in 2014, I was an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, where I was supervised by Dr. Ana Rodrigues. Then in 2016, I became a Lecturer in Mathematics (Education & Scholarship) at the University of Exeter, where I wrote and taught`Writing Mathematical Proofs'.

My main research interests are in the areas of dynamical systems, ergodic theory and number theory.
