Irene Pasquinelli

Since November 2022 I am a Leverhulme Early Career fellow in the School of Mathematics of the University of Bristol.

Previously, I was a Research Associate at the University of Bristol, working with Viveka Erlandsson and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu, funded by the FSMP and working with Elisha Falbel in the Analyse complexe et Géométrie research group. Before that, I was PhD candidate at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Durham University, under the supervision of John Parker.

My current research is in the two main areas of geometric group theory and dynamics on translation surfaces. More precisely, I have projects studying complex hyperbolic lattices, complex projective structures, asymptotic growth of curves, Veech surfaces and symbolic coding.

I co-organise with Alice Kerr and Nicolas Vaskou the Geometry and Topology Seminar in Bristol. Please email me if you would like to be added to the mailing list for the seminar.

I am a Research Staff Representative for my School at the University of Bristol. More information can be found in the Bristol Clear website. The University of Bristol is a signatory of the Concordat to support the Career Development of Researchers. If you want to discuss anything related to this, please get in touch.

I maintain a page with various resources about applying for postdocs. They can be found here. This page contains updates from a separate google sheet which can be modified by several people and is updated regularly. If you see a problem with the sheet or would like to contribute to it, please let me know.

You can find me in room 2.11 of the Fry building.
