Fifteenth Algorithmic Number Theory Symposium, ANTS-XV,
University of Bristol
August 8 - 12, 2022
Conference Venue
ANTS XV is taking place in room LG.02 and the surrounding areas of the Fry Building (see also wikipedia), home of the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol.
The address is Fry Building, Woodland Rd, Bristol BS8 1UG. The main entrance to the building is near the intersection of Woodland Road and University Road; once you enter we hope it will be clear how to reach the lecture room: go down the stairs, or turn left for an elevator. There is also an entrance to the Lower Ground level from the back of the building.
Here is a Google Maps link which seems to work well. And an OpenStreetMap link.
Nearby things
Park Street, Park Row, Whiteladies Road, the Clifton Triangle, and Cotham Hill are streets near the Fry Building where many restaurants and shops can be found.
Brandon Hill Park could be a nice place to go for a walk or each lunch outside. The lunch breaks should be long enough to grab something quick to eat and climb Cabot Tower.
The Clifton Suspention Bridge (google maps) is one of Bristol's most iconic features. If you walk there it is also worth walking up to the observatory on the hill above.
The SS Great Britain is an old boat.
Saint Mary Redcliffe is a church.
Bristol is a good place for beer. Local breweries with open tap rooms include Moor, Left Handed Giant and Fierce and Noble. On Friday and Saturday there is also Good Chemistry, Dawkins, and Wiper and True. Good Chemistry also has an associated pub, the Good Measure, on Chandos Road. Dawkins is associated to a few pubs: The Victoria on Southleigh Road is nearby, the Green Man, and the Hillgrove Porter Stores are all nearby.
Some other good nearby pubs include the Highbury Vaults (traditional beer, large outdoor garden), The Robin Hood, The Open Arms, the Lansdown (large garden), the Lime Kiln, The Eldon House, The Hope and Anchor, Quinton House (you can take your beer to the park across the road), The Three Tuns (it has Nicolas Cage on the pub sign), and The Bag o Nails (it has lots of cats). King Street in the center has about 9 pubs.
